Issued at the 8th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Nationals in Chicago, IL of April 23-27, 2008. From the dinner honoring Hot Wheels® designers Paul and Alec Tam.
The Whip Creamer® and Whip Creamer® II are closely related, literally. Paul Tam designed the original in 1969, and son Alec designed the sequel in 2002. Honoring their Chinese heritage and their relationship, the graphic on the hood of the Whip Creamer® means “father” in Mandarin, while the graphic on the hood of the Whip Creamer® II means “son.” On the Whip Creamer®, Paul Tam’s name is on the driver’s side with Alec’s name on the passenger side. Their names are in reverse position on the Whip Creamer® II. The color palettes are also flip-flopped on each car.
