Oh, 1972, how we loved you. A burger at Mickey D's would set you back about a quarter, gasoline cost a mere 35¢ a gallon, and $2,500 was all it took to get your muscle car on with the Plymouth Duster. The Hot Wheels® "spoilers" style version joined the HWC™ Series Eight Real Riders® editions as the Plymouth Duster Thruster! Based on the "spoilers" styles of the '70s originally designed by Ira Gilford, we first offered the Plymouth Duster Thruster in the Since '68™ lineup. But we couldn't let a good thing go, so we brought it back for HWC™ Series Eight, and treated it right with a Spectraflame® purple finish and Real Riders® five-spoke wheels with red stripes. Finished with white stripes on the sides, silver tampo with "Plymouth" on the door and "Duster" on the front fender, and a white license plate with "California" in red and "THRSTR" in blue.
