The year 1971 was a big one for the Hot Wheels brand, with more than 35 vehicles making their debut, among them the futuristic Pit Crew Car. In a poll at HWC, you told us the Pit Crew Car was one casting you’d love to see retooled so we’ve gone back to the future…
The HWC Series Eight Neo-Classics Pit Crew Car is the long-awaited return of a casting that’s only been used once! The original Pit Crew Car debuted in 1971, and was designed by Larry Wood and Howard Rees as something of a companion piece to the Heavyweights Team Trailer and Heavyweights Racer Rig of the same year (both with cabs designed by Ira Gilford and trailers designed by Larry). Featuring a deco that mimics the original release on a totally modern Spectraflame® chrome-plated finish, Neo-Classics Redlines wheels, and an opening rear with tool bed, this new classic is bound to be beloved by collectors of any era.
