Today I learned about those folks you see on the runways at airports, on the decks of aircraft carriers, and on helipads – the ones waving around the lit-up orange cone-shaped thingies – those folk are "marshallers," and the work that they do to guide planes and helicotpers from the ground is called "aircraft marshalling." Which this casting is all about, too!
